One year as a trainee

The one-year trainee program at Aareal Bank offers a mixture of theoretical and practical phases. Theoretical contents of various main topics are being taught during the seminars, and can then be applied and deepened within the practical phases. Those can be designed on an individual and flexible basis with the support of the HR department. At this, job rotations in different divisions of Aareal Bank are possible. This career entry advances and challenges the development of broad theoretical and practical knowledge for the future professional career.

What I like in particular

The trainee year does not only provide the opportunity to gain technical know-how and col-lect practical experience. Working in the bank's various divisions, one also meets a great num-ber of new colleagues within a short period of time and thus quickly forges a network in the entire bank.
My personal highlight of the year was the participation in a project, in which the trainees had the sole responsibility of organising a property excursion for a group of students from Cambridge.

My background

After having finished my bank apprenticeship, I went on to study International Economy and Intercultural Studies in Heilbronn and spent one semester each in Spain and England. The international experiences I made, were, amongst others, the reason for me to apply for Aareal Bank's trainee program. The different insights - especially in times of the financial crisis - provide me with valuable knowledge in an international environment.
