Serkan Akkurt - Loan Manager

My job

As a loan manager, I am responsible for the on-going analysis of risk and security structure as well as for the financial performance of commercial property portfolios starting from the acquisition stage until the maturity. 
 
This position not only provides me with unique experience through participating in several projects all around the world, but also brings exciting challenges to handle.

My favourite tasks

Today’s credit management requires strategic thinking and being pro-active. Early assessment of potential risks and future sustainability of projects are the key tasks of my position.

In this context, I always have to be informed about different aspects of the commercial real estate market and approach issues not only as a financer but also from the perspective of an investor, constructor and/or a legal party.

My professional career

I have studied business administration in Istanbul including an exchange program in the United States. Meanwhile, I absolved several internships in different sectors. Thereafter, I attended the one-year trainee program International Property Finance at Aareal Bank. Since then, I am working as a loan manager in the International Credit Management Department covering Canada, Mexico, Turkey and Switzerland portfolios.

My future

After a good career start abroad in an international bank, I am looking forward to further enhance my social and professional skills by taking on new tasks, challenging projects and responsibilities.

My advice for a career start

In order to achieve a solid career start, I recommend participating in a well-structured trainee program where you can gain specific technical knowledge and receive the ability to apply it into practice.
