In 1995, Aareal Bank was the first European mortgage bank to become active in Italy by opening an office in Rom. With the opening of our branch in Milan in 1996 we have become present in the two major economic centres of Italy.

Based on the more than 30 years experience of our Italian management, we enjoy profound insight in the Italian property market. Our Rome and Milan staff consists of credit professionals from a variety of backgrounds, including financing, banking, law and real estate valuation. The numbers speak for themselves: In 2007 Aareal Bank managed a loan portfolio in Italy of approximately € 3.4 bn.

We focus on high quality property transactions all over Italy. Our range covers secured and unsecured development and investment loans including residential properties, shopping centres, logistics, hotels and leisure financing. Aareal Bank finances asset deals as well as share deals. In addition, we also provide VAT financing.

We finance single property transactions and large-scale portfolios from a € 10m loan amount upwards.

As a service provider we are the interface between international market players, i.e. investors, management companies, property funds as well as Italian developers and property companies.

Since 2000, the affiliated company Immo Consulting Spa offers consultancy and advisory services in the fields of technical due diligence, evaluation, project monitoring and real estate trading.

The bank’s subsidiary Aareon has been represented by Aareon Italia in Italy since 1999 as Aareon Italia S.r.l., Rome (100 %). Its customers include important public property companies.
