In 2004, Aareal Bank opened an office in Singapore to provide advisory services, primarily to the hotel investment community in the region.
Aareal Bank Asia Limited (formerly Aareal Financial Services, Singapore), the Asian subsidiary of Aareal Bank AG, was granted a merchant banking licence by the Monetary Authority of Singapore in August 2007. This represents another milestone in Aareal Bank's successful expansion in Asia/Pacific.
As part of Aareal Bank's global strategy, Singapore acts as the Bank's regional hub for the Asia/Pacific region. We plan to open an office in Shanghai end of 2007.
