German regulation governing supervisory requirements for remuneration systems of institutions

Based on section 25a (6) of the German Banking Act (Kreditwesengesetz – KWG), the German Remuneration Ordinance for Institutions (Institutsvergütungsverordnung – "InstitutsVergV") came into effect on 16 December 2013; it extends and specifies the financial requirements for banks' remuneration systems. Updated versions of these disclosures are published subsequent to Aareal Bank's Annual General Meeting, usually in June or July each year. Information on the remuneration systems is disclosed in the respective Group Annual Reports.

As the disclosure obligations stipulated in section 16 of the InstitutsVergV have been included in the regulatory disclosure regulations according to section 26a of the KWG, the relevant information as of the 2014 financial year will be disclosed for the first time under our new Internet section "Regulatory disclosure in accordance with section 26a KWG".
