Electronic Banking with Aareal Sign? Sure thing!

Secure working with Aareal Sign, the EBICS app of Aareal Bank - Basic rules for your electronic banking

Please adhere to the following rules when doing electronic banking in Aareal Sign.

1. Protect your data and passwords and keep your passwords in a safe place.

  • To be able to do electronic banking through Aareal Sign you need an individual access and release medium. This is your smartphone and two passwords that you allocate to yourself at the first-time activation and initialisation.
  • Never record your passwords at any easily accessible location e.g. on your desk or in data folders. Keep them to yourself.
  • After you have done the banking transactions, always terminate the Aareal Bank app to log off securely.

2. Block your access if you discover irregularities.

Should you suspect that your authorisations are being misused, you can consult the Aareal customer hotline concerning security questions about Aareal Sign. You can also have your access to Aareal Sign blocked there (or you can block it yourself at any time directly in Aareal Sign.)

3. Protect your devices

  • The phone or tablet you use to conduct Aareal Sign bank transactions has to be a secure environment.  The operating system has to be kept current with the most recent security updates of the providers.
  • Do not disable the user restrictions of the operating system (jailbreak).
  • As also for Aareal Sign, you have to provide an individual log-on when accessing your smartphone, here too using e.g. an access code (which differs from the password for Aareal Sign) or one of the other options provided by the smartphone. Always block your smartphone when not in use.
  • If your computer has a wireless connection to the Internet for example using WLAN, corresponding access restrictions and encryptions are necessary.

4. Please be careful in downloading software and files.

  • Viruses or Trojans can get onto your smartphone through damaging software (malware) and spy on data or destroy them. So install apps only from the app store. In addition, unfamiliar graphic files and hyperlinks in emails that you received without asking for them can contain malware.
