Financing of Grand Hyatt Barcelona
Aareal Bank acted as arranger, facility and security agent in the completion of the acquisition of the hotel SOFIA Barcelona, later upgraded and rebranded to Grand Hyatt Barcelona hotel, a 5-star luxury hotel with 465 rooms operated by Hyatt International brand.
The property, which is located next to Camp Nou Stadium in the vibrant Les Corts district, was acquired by AXA Investment Managers on behalf of its clients in a joint venture with Spanish based partner Blasson Property Investments.
Barcelona is a dynamic city in terms of hotel real estate: While the number of new hotels is limited, there is a continued year-round increase in demand for hotel rooms.
