Aareal Bank Group once again participated in the CDP Climate Rating in 2022. The Group was rated “Management Level B” – a marked improvement over the previous year (2021: Awareness Level C), and its best result since 2016. The score achieved by Aareal Bank exceeds the average for the financial services sector as well as the global mean; it is in line with the European average.
By taking part in the CDP exercise, Aareal Bank Group is enhancing its transparency and reinforcing progress reporting with regard to the adaptability of its business model to climate change, as well as associated opportunities and risks. For sustainability-oriented investors in particular as well as other stakeholder groups, CDP is a key element in facilitating objective assessment of Aareal Bank Group’s performance in terms of climate-related aspects.
International rating organisation CDP has compiled an extensive catalogue of criteria to assess corporate management of climate-related issues. This catalogue forms the basis of CDP's annual analyses of corporate strategies for dealing with the challenges of climate change and the ratings derived from these analyses. More than 18,600 companies, which account for more than half of global market capitalisation, participated in the CDP Climate Rating in 2022. The scores range from A (“Leadership“) to D (“Disclosure“).
