Aareal Bank publishes report on the financed carbon emissions of its Commercial Real Estate Financing portfolio for the 2024 financial year

Aareal Bank has published its second report on financed carbon emissions in its Commercial Real Estate Financing Portfolio in accordance with the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) standard.

Aareal Bank has been a member of the PCAF initiative since 2021 by signing the PCAF Commitment Letter, making it part of a global community that now comprises more than 600 financial institutions and is committed to uniform and comparable carbon reporting in the financial sector.

The report published today not only offers an overall view of the carbon performance of the loan portfolio but also offers detailed insights into the emission intensities of individual building types and regions. In addition, the application of PCAF data quality scores allows the quality of the underlying data to be transparently assessed and facilitates better comparability with other market participants.

The current PCAF report on financed carbon emissions as at the 31 December 2024 reporting date is available here

Due to the international composition of our portfolio, the report is published exclusively in English.
