Aareal Bank received Awareness Level C in the specific rating category "Climate Change 2019", which puts the Bank in line with the average in the financial sector, the regional average in Europe and the global average of all CDP participants. CDP evaluates the companies in the categories A (Leadership) to D (Disclosure). By participating in the CDP rating, Aareal Bank aims at further developing its energy and CO2 reporting based on recognised standards, and thus meets the requests put forward by its customers and investors to demonstrate more transparency and comparability in its CO2 emissions reporting, while at the same time demonstrating its progress in climate management.
According to its own information, CDP evaluates climate data of nearly 8,400 companies every year, on behalf of more than 525 institutional investors. Those investors represent fund assets of approx. USD 96 trillion and incorporate the information into their investment decisions, says CDP.
