On 23 September 2016, the "Wiesbadener Kurier" newspaper published an interview with Daniela Thyssen, Sustainability Manager at Aareal Bank, entitled "Acting responsibly". In it, she describes how sustainability affects business at a leading international property specialist and what its priorities are with respect to sustainability management.
"For example, investors with a focus on sustainability will only buy our shares if we can show that we've done well in the sustainability ratings." Ms. Thyssen also provides examples of how the Bank is cutting back on its use of environmental resources. "Among other things, I'm researching for our Sustainability Report how much paper we are saving by using new copiers and printers, and by introducing electronic human resources and billing files."
In addition, she gives insights into the daily work of a sustainability manager, touching on the broad range of tasks involved and the critical importance of transparent sustainability reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
